RALLY 2016 Happens THIS WEEKEND!

We leave THIS Friday!! Please be at the church at 2:00PM sharp.
If you haven’t already turned it in, all waivers and payment are due Friday before we leave.

What luggage to bring?

  1. ONE bag per student (purses, sleeping bag and pillow can be separate)
  2. Should be a soft-sided, SMALL carry-on sized bag (backpack or duffel bag…please no hard-frame roller bags)

What are other things to make sure you bring?
(first-timers can also see notes at the end)

  1. Money for 2 meals on the road   (have this on your person, NOT in your luggage)
  2. Snacks for the road
    (Totally optional. Sharing is caring.)
  3. Physical Bible
(as in, paper…electronic Bibles are a no go at this retreat)
  4. Sleeping bag and pillow
(if you don’t own a sleeping bag, sheets/blanket are ok, but keep in mind you will be on the floor or sharing a mattress)
  5. Towel
(there are none up there; trust me from experience, sharing is NOT caring.)
  6. Jacket / Warm clothes
(Supposed to be high of 45 on Saturday…yikes!)
  7. Tennis shoes for outdoor hiking / activities
  8. Appropriate PJs
(sleeping areas and bathrooms are separated, but there are shared common areas)
  9. Toiletries
(Girls – think camping with your family…go light on this stuff. Boys – don’t think camping with Battalion…you WILL take a shower this weekend!)

What NOT to bring? (hopefully these are obvious)

  1. Extra electronics (tablets, game devices, etc.)…we’re getting away to unwind and unplug.
  2. Alcohol, drugs, etc. (please DO remember to bring any necessary prescriptions!)
  3. Weapons / knives (pocket knives are ok)
(In case there was any confusion:  you definitely aren’t providing the teaching firearms.)

There are 3 forms for this trip.  Harvey Cedar’s waiver, the marina waiver which allows you students to paddle board or kayak on the bayside and the SPEP Annual waiver.  If your student has been on a HS trip this year (Fall Retreat, Ski Retreat, Guppy Gulch) then we should have one on file. Sunday School this week…

Dear Wavelength,

This Sunday (June 26th) we will be having a special class that will meet in the class room in the narthex.  Please join us in the sanctuary for refreshments and special guest speaker Julie Soltis.  Julie has returned home from serving overseas for some time now.  She will be sharing what God is doing in the refugee community in Austria.  The Oasis is the ministry that Jeremey and Steph now serve.  So don’t head to the basement, come straight to the church and look for me in the narthex.
